Qualification of getting Moola Mantra upadesam

Some of our friends asked, what is the qualification of getting Moola Mantra upadesam. (Sastha  or any god)

I have not answered to them, since I feel you are the right person to answer authentically.

According to me if the person is ready for this it comes automatically, but  I I say this they may not believe and they expected detailed answer.

Can you explain in your blog please.

Moola mantram is the very form of the God... U may be called by one name today (in this janma) and another name tomorrow.. But God's name is permanent... Thats why people are suggested to do Nama Japam and Naama keerthanam...

If Nama japam itself can bring so much glory just imagine how powerful the moola mantram will be? Nama is God's name... whereas Moola Mantram is the very form of God himself.

First of all the Moola Mantram has originated from the Lord Himself. It's the most sacred one in the world.  Right from the start of the creation the moola mantra is used by countless number of Rishis to do the Mantra japam to please the Lord and to get his blessings.

Moola mantram upadesham may happen in two (and rarely three)  ways....

This is what is prescribed in various Tantras like Kularnavam...

1.
First a person is totally immersed in devotion towards a particular God and want to do the upasana...

He surrenders to a particular person - identifying him as his Guru.

Then one has to plead to the Guru for upadesham... And Guru has to observe the sishya and carefully watch his actions for a period of time... Only of he is satisfied he may consider him for giving the mantra upadesham.

For some people only some mantras are suitable; So if a person voluntarily asks for mantra upadesham, his horoscope has to be assessed to check whether this mantram will suit him. Or Siddhari Shodhanam may also be conducted. Most of the Gurus do this and exception from these tests are there for a few mantras.

After this over a period of time, gradually various mantras right from ganapaty (as per the sampradhaya) are given to the disciple

2.
The second case happens due to a divine will - a Mahan or Guru due to his compassion towards the Sishya, gives him the upadesham. Even without asking, one may get the mantra upadesham. This one is actually superior than asking. Its a momentary decision or intuition which makes the Guru to give the upadesham...

Prahalaadha, was given Upadesha of moola mantra from Narada even when Prahalaadha was in the womb.

Iam forunate enough to have personally witnessed few such incidents at Pampa, Veliyanavattam, Karimala and Sannidhanam. Just while sitting in the puja, meditation or Sastha Preethi, the Guru calls someone and gives him the treasure.

3.
The third case, When the Guru parampara order - is in disorder, some divine intervention takes place to set it right... Either the giver should have the blazing fire or atleast the receiver should be a dry log... but in todays case - both are very difficult to find. So for a few very very rare cases mantra a divine force may manifest in dream etc to give the upadesham....  This happens only for one in a million.

So if one is really interested in doing moola mantra japam, one has to catch hold the feet of his guru. Anyway - the qualification for getting a moola mantram - is decided by Bhagawan himself. So one has to sincerely pray to the Ishta deivam to show the proper Guru and to give him the upadesham through the Guru. So once the time comes or rather when "He" feels you are qualified, you get the mantra upadesham.

A very very fortunate person will get to know the moola mantra through proper upadesham. And the person who is now a Shishya of that Acharyan must not at any cost disclose the mantram openly to anyone. These Secred Mantras only when got through an Acharya from a true sampradayam and Guru Parampara, will the power of the potency of these mantras. Only mantras obtained through proper Guru will earn the grace of the Lord.


{The Sishya has to salute the Guru with Dakshina and the Guru has to acknowledge it. This has to be done very clearly... I was wondering why this step is insisted so much?  On pondering over this, it  reminded me of three famous (rather interesting) phrases
1. "Pusthaka Guru" ie Reading the moola mantram from a book and start doing the japam on his own....
This method is not allowed and when practiced, it will not give any result....

2. "Mantra Thiruttu" ie When the Guru is giving upadesham to a sishya, a person making an eavesdrop on them and start chanting on own
This method is a great sin and will give negative result....

3. 2. "Mantra Sweekaranam" ie The person instigating a guru very cleverly and somehow make him utter the moola mantram - and even without the knowledge of the Guru, they themselves consider this as upadesham and start chanting.
This is a worst crime

Also they are sugguesting to chat below mantram everyday min 31times and max chatting will get better benefit.......

Let me make it clear... 

Mantra Shastra is totally different from practically what we see... 

It will be surprising to know that things which are promoted by "so called" spiritual magazines or neo Gurus are no way acceptable by the mantra shastra... 

The main thing to be noted it, when you do things which are not prescribed by the shastras the net result may be either way - positive or negative but when we venture into things prohibited by the mantra shastras then sure we are going to land some where else...

Again my words may hurt may and again I may get the title of "threatener".... But Iam not threatening any one but Iam just telling you the truth... 

Last month I saw a instant stall in front of a temple with a lady selling doop stick packets she gave me and he said by lighting this one can get the result of doing " Ganapati homam... "

She said this specific type of dhoopsticks are manufatured by some Agastya or Bogar ashram... with Sidhar secret !!! (I think today Agastya and Boga seem to have more leisure time - most of the Swamijis claim to talk with them !!! ) 

How can a mere dhoopa give the result of a homa ? This is nothing more than a cheap marketing technique in the name of God...

Then why our ancestors spent so much of time is doing all these Kriyas.... Just buy an incese for 15Rs and get Ganapaty Homa Result, buy 4 packets, burn it and do Chandi homa Result.... Buy 25 packets and get the result of doing all the homams in your life time....

Please understand - anything which has pramana on Sasthra - is only acceptable. You cannot invent or introduce new practices, new swamijis or even new Gods....

You find Saibaba Yantra, Ragavendra Yantra and even to the extent of - moola mantra for Nithyanandha....

Even I can make a claim that Jesus Christ created Lord Brahma.....  will it be true? 99% of the claims made today by these people are similar to this.

Not only this... may conventional practices are also "out of the way" 

A simple instance.. which may be very much surprising to many of the devotees is lighting of "Elumizham Pazha Vilakku" ie Lemon Lamp during Rahu Kalam especially for Durga.

This is nowhere found in the Sasthras....

I still wonder how this started.... You are not even suppose to cut a flower or a fruit in the divine sannidhanam.. then how can you burn it ?

All these practices may be there for a very long time. But adhering the sasthras is the primary importance.

What to do? All these may look fancy But following the Sasthra only can give the result

Now coming to this query of Shuba Drishti Ganapaty

Mantra Sasthras give a lot of forms for Shri Maha Ganapaty... all the forms of Ganapaty are acknowledged and each has its own  form, Moola Mantra and bestow specific result. 

For instance you have Sankata Hara Ganapaty for removing sorrows,

Runa Hara Ganapaty to remove liabilities and debts, Vidya ganapaty for education and many more...

Ganapatyam Starts from Maha Ganapaty and Srividya Ends with Ucchishta Ganapaty.

Apart from this you have 16, 108 and many more forms of Ganapaty. 

But all the other form are acknowledged by Sasthras and properly recorded... The moola mantras of these forms of Ganapaty are taken as a upadesham from the Guru and the initiated disciple practices it.

But... This Shuba Drishti Ganapaty can no where be found in any Sasthras... Suddenly some 8-9 years back a craze started and almost every house in Tamilnadu had the picture of this Kan Drishti Ganapaty (Later renamed as Shuba Drishti Ganapti)

This was created by an eminent Sculptor named Baskaradas from Chennai(as per the divine  instructions he got from one Swamiji)

I have a great regard for the Sculptor for his talent and knowledge.. One of my friend was his neighbor and his devotion is something extra ordinary. Out of his own divine experience and of a divine dream he has created this form of Ganapaty.

But I personally cannot accept the idea of creating new forms apart from what is prescribed in the Sasthras..

(This is 100% my personal opinion and be sure and clear that Iam not passing any judgments or comments on anyone)

There are numerous forms of Pillayar  like Cricket Ganesha, Kargil Ganesha and many more displays during Ganesha Chaturthi... 

When you see everything as Ganesha- he is even there in "Manjal" or even in the Cow Dung.. But when you come to Kriya- 100 % rules has to be followed

When the Shuba Drishti ganapati itself is formed after 1996 I dont know where people derive the mode of worship to this Ganapaty..   

When the very form itself is under question how can you "derive" a moola mantra for that form ? and what is the source text for prescribing 31 times x so many days etc etc

All the moola mantras or Mala Mantras are given by Rishis - I dont know which rishi gave the moola mantram for this Ganapaty after 1996

Mantra

A Mantra -  is nothing but the Subtle form of the Deity. Thats why its called Moola Mantra.

The Mantra and the deity are not Two different entities..

While the physical form of the Lord (gross form) is identified by his color, attire, weapons etc his subtle form is known by the mantra. Thats why we call it powerful.

Each deity has a separate mantra - the mantras are filled with beejas (cryptical words) which has the potential to invoke the divinity. And people may or maynot be able to sustain the enery generated by the moola mantra.

Only a Guru can know which mantra may suit the sishya and help the sishya. This is why Iam keep on insisting that Guru Upadesham is a must.

In simple IT language the Moola Mantra upadesham is the password for you. But the mere password is of no use. For that you need a login id - which can be given only by the Guru.

So only with both login id and password you can enter the world of upasana.

For this reason shastras insist that Mantras has to be got only from a Guru and not learnt on own.

The Golden Rule is -

The Mantra, the Deity and the Guru - All the three are one and the Same

Stotra

Stotras are poetic texts which praise the particular deity. This is also called as Stuti. These are generally called Slokas. This may be written by any Rishis, Devas or Poets...

These can be chanted by anyone to get the blessings of Devi, Shiva, Vishnu, Ganesha or Sastha. 

Certain stotras are made out of divine intervention and these stotras easily pleases the Lord and gets his grace.

For example Vishnu Sahasranama Stotram was chanted by Bheeshma at the end of the Mahabharata war by Bheeshma while he was lying in the arrow bed. This was imparted to everyone by Vyasa and till now we are chanting it and earning the blessings of the Lord.

Lalita Trishati Parayanam - Query continues....

After answering the query on Lalita Trishati, some of our devotees wanted to list out similar stotras which r not to be chanted without upadesham...


Vishnu Sahasranamam and Genaral Stotras like Loka Veeram, Shyamala Dhaandakam etc can be chanted irrespective of any criteria...


But how is it possible to list out the Stotras ? Stotra Collection s is like a huge ocean. It is impossible to list all the Stotras which need initiation.


A simple way to find it out is that all the Stotras which needs upadesham Starts with
"Asya Shree................mantrasya...... rishi etc.
(Remember ? there is one mantram called Gayatri which you got as upadesham from your father. Before chanting this mantram you used to do nyasas)
and having beeja mantrams (ie like Hreem Aim etc)

All other slokas donot have any bar and anyone can chant it.

And  the following popular Stotras which are now chanted just like that 100% needs upadesham
Varahi Nigraha + Anugrahashtaka
Durga Saptashati ie Devi Mahatmyam
Lalita Sahasranama
Lalita Trishati
Indrakshi Stotram
Saubhagya Ashtottara
Kartaviryarjuna mantram
Sudharshana Mantram
Shri Maha Sasthur Anugraha Kavacham
Kirathashtakam of Sastha
Subramanya Shatru Samhara Trishati

And there is a propaganda that a person who has got Gayatri Mantra Upadesham can directly chant Lalita Trishati or Sahasranama... I dont know who gave the permission...

Unless there is an explicit reference in the Shastras you cannot take things for granted. A person with Gayaptri mantra Upadesham can very well chant Gayatri Sahasranamam (which is least bothered) and how can he claim mastery over some other area in which he has not given any right?

Donot try to compromise with Mantra Sasthra and try to act smart...
You can very well read all these texts and no one can stop you...

But that may be like reading a story book the net result will be nothing....

Shatru Samhara Subramanya Trishati

I have got a book of Shatru Samhara Subramanya Trishati given along with the magazine ................... 

What is the procedure for doing this Shatru Samhara Subramanya Trishati Archana ?

This Subrahmanya Trishati is one of the important text of the Kaumara sect.  This Trishati is a  secret prayoga and destroys one's enemies. The skandArchana kalpadrUma and other kaumAra texts refer to this secret method. 

Subrahmanya Upasana is an important upasana which has to be handled carefully because it can directly influence the Swadhishthana Chakra. The most required quality is Vairagya.

So the methodology and usage of of this Trishati is taught only to a very few deserving upasakas and not to all. 

Unlike other Trishati Stotra or Namavali, this one is more of a prayoga and one has to be very very careful in handling this. This is mainly used only as an Archana by Subrahmanya Upasakas

This Trishati is also known an "Shiva Subramanya Trishati" because the names are divided into six groups with the Shadakshari mantra coupled into six mantras depicting the Six faces of Parameshwara(Sadyojatati.. etc)

And not every one can chant this mantra. The basic requirement to handle this Trishati is - getting the upadesham of Subrahmanya Shadakshari Mahamantram.

Subramanya is meditated that He is of red color with six heads and 12 arms, and embraces the goddess ShaShTi who is seated on his lap

And this is one of the most powerful prayoga ie by doing archana with this Trishati ones enemies gets lost forever. But this Kamya Prayoga is always a sharp knife to handle. It may backfire any moment. 

And one has to satisfy all the conditions given below to have the desired result 100%

• Ladies are strictly not allowed to chant this Trishati as they may not be able to sustain some of its effects.
• The first and the second varnas are alone eligible to handle this trishati.

• One has to complete 6 lakh Purashcharana of Subrahmanya Moola Mantra.
• Proper Sandyopasana  has to be carried out 
• Ahara niyamam and other anushtanas has to be followed stricly.
• He has to follow strict Brahmacharya for Three days before starting the process.
• On the day of worship one has to complete Sahasra Gayatri japam (1008) times and then start worshipping Subramanya with this Trishati. 
• The puja is concluded with Ksheera (milk) arghyas three tims to the Lord. 

• The next day of the puja, the Lord will still be in Ugra and He has to be calmed down with Panchamrita Abhisheka

The best advice is to start this practice after receiving proper permission and blessing from one's Guru who has given the Subramanya Mantra upadesham.

Remember... this Trishati when recited it without following the proper rules not only affects the upasaka but also his Guru

Iam totally shocked to see this text given as a free supplement to a spiritual magazine (and with full of mistakes) 

Even for a person who satisfies all the above rules, the text warns that he has to definitely undergo heat and burning sensation in the body because of its intense energy.  Iam really worried what will be the result and suffering a layman will be experiencing when he follows it blindly.

May Lord Gnanapanditha gives us the wisdom to earn His grace and worship him properly.
